York Minster is one of the world's most magnificent cathedrals and has been at the centre of Christianity in the north of England since the 7th century. It features exquisite handcrafted stone and an unrivalled collection of medieval stained glass. Visitors can also climb the Central Tower's 275 steps (additional charge) and explore the Undercroft Museum, Treasury, Crypt and St Cuthbert Exhibition.

Accessibility: The majority of the building is accessible by wheelchair and mobility scooter users; main features except the Tower have level, ramped or lift access. The Tower has no wheelchair access and requires climbing 275 stone steps. Free carers tickets can be booked; audio induction loops, tactile model and tactile plan with Braille/PENfriend audio description are available, and specially trained guides can be arranged with 6 weeks' notice.
Parking: On-street accessible parking bays close to the Minster; Blue Badge parking locations in the city; the main railway station with barrier-free access is about 1 kilometre away
