About this day out

The Workhouse Museum is one of Britain's most complete surviving Victorian workhouses, where visitors follow an inmate's journey from admittance in the Guardian's Room, through the baths and fumigation process, to the cells where vagrants slept. Visits include the original Workhouse Kitchen Garden, cultivated using 1860s gardening techniques to grow heritage crops such as vegetables and fruit varieties found there in 1890.
