Accessibility: The upland landscape is very steep and rugged with very uneven terrain, so paths can be demanding on physical fitness; phone signal is absent throughout most of the site.
Parking: Main visitor car park at Mardale Head (What3Words: weary.intrigued.published; grid ref NY46951073), open at all times with no overnight parking permitted. A suggested £2 cash donation applies in the cairn (no card payments possible). Naddle Farm RSPB office has no public parking except for pre-booked hides and visits.
Dogs: Dogs are welcome on the public rights of way across Wild Haweswater, but must be kept on leads during the bird nesting season, around ground-resting birds, and around livestock (cattle and ponies are on-site).
