About this day out

Ullapool Museum, located in the fishing village of Ullapool in the Scottish Highlands, is housed in a Category A listed former Thomas Telford Parliamentary church. It explores the social history of Lochbroom through displays on crofting, fishing, the 'klondykers', the migrant ship Hector, Melville pistols and a bi-centenary quilt, alongside maritime history and Gaelic culture. The museum also offers an archive reading area, genealogy records and a children's activity area.

Accessibility: Downstairs exhibitions are accessible to wheelchair users and wheelchairs are permitted everywhere; the upstairs balcony exhibitions are not wheelchair accessible, but resources can be relocated downstairs. Access is entirely on the flat with only a small lip through the front door. Accessible toilet on the ground floor, with a Changing Places facility across the road. Subtitles are provided on most films. Assistance dogs are welcome, and a free carer ticket is available with disabled visitor tickets. The museum is working with the Neurodivergent Museums Network and SEAS to support autistic and neurodiverse visitors. There are no designated disabled parking spaces in the vicinity.
Parking: No designated car parking for patrons. A council-run car park is located at Latheron Car Park, a 3-minute walk from the museum, and on-street parking is available on a first come, first serve basis (restrictions apply in some areas). No designated disabled car parking in the vicinity.
