About this day out
Tropiquaria is a zoo set a short distance from the Somerset coast and the edge of Exmoor National Park, home to mammals, birds, reptiles and fish. It is housed in a Grade II listed former BBC radio transmitting station completed in 1933, with the Transmitter Hall now containing the Reptile House, the basement the Aquarium, and the battery rooms the Nocturnal House. The zoo focuses on conservation, including one of the world's largest breeding collections of Mexican Goodeid fish, and provides homes for rescued animals.
