About this day out
The Shell Museum, Glandford, is the oldest purpose-built museum in Norfolk and houses the finest seashell collection in the UK, built in 1915 by Sir Alfred Jodrell. As well as thousands of exquisite seashells, the Museum also contains fossils, birds' eggs, pottery, local archaeological finds and much more. It is a small private trust and receives no public grants of any kind, depending on income from visitors.
When to go
Opening calendar
April - October, Thursday - Saturday, 10am to 3pm. Winter opening - groups welcome by prior appointment.
