About this day out
An elegant Georgian courthouse built in 1830 that remains virtually unchanged, which opened as a museum in 1999 after the Magistrates Court closed in 1998. Visitors can experience standing in the dock, explore the Courtroom, Jury Room and Justices' Retiring Room, and learn about the Liberty of Ripon and sentencing in the 1800s. Typical visit time is 30 minutes.

- Single Ticket: Adult (16+) £4.50, Concession £4, Child (6-15yrs) £3.75, Child (5yrs and under) FREE. All museums annual pass: Adult £19.00, Child £10.50, Concession £18.00, Family & Friends £38.00 (2 adults and up to 3 children), Small family £28.00 (1 adult, 1 child). Tickets valid for 12 months.

- The museum consists of three rooms plus an entrance hall. There are three steps at the entrance (with handrails). The Courtroom floors are on several levels with narrow walkways. The doorway from the Jury Room into the Justices' Retiring Room is too narrow for wheelchair access. Concessions available for Carers and Max cards accepted.
