Stromness Museum is an independent museum founded in 1837, making it one of Scotland's oldest independent museums, located in the south of Stromness, Orkney. Its permanent galleries cover maritime and natural history, social history, wartime and Scapa Flow, ethnography, and seafaring. The museum also hosts special and temporary exhibitions throughout the year.

Limited disabled visitor access due to the age of the building. The entrance and ground floor are level, with a slight incline to the upper gallery of the ground floor. A stair lift to the Natural History collection is available, but there is no such access to the other galleries. There is a disabled-access toilet at street level. Access to the Captain's Parlour can be arranged from the pier via the custodian on duty.
