Stanton Park is a country park owned by Swindon Borough Council and contains a Scheduled Ancient Monument, the site of a Roman Villa, although there are no visible remains. Nature Reserve status covers 36 hectares of the park, including the lake, woodland and grassland. The park offers a wide range of habitats — including ancient woodland, wildflower meadows, wetlands, a lake and recently restored ponds — home to wildlife such as roe deer, badgers, birds of prey and over 900 species of fungi.
