St Fagans National Museum of History in Cardiff is a people's museum exploring history through people's everyday lives. It is a large open-air museum with historic buildings including St Fagans Castle, a Grade 1 listed building and one of the finest Elizabethan manor houses in Wales, plus indoor galleries such as Wales is…, Life is… and Gweithdy. Entry is free.

Dogs: Yes – dogs are welcome, with plenty of paths to discover from woodland walks to formal gardens. Appropriately trained service dogs are admitted.
