About this day out

Salisbury Cathedral is home to Britain's tallest spire, Britain's largest Cathedral Close and Cloisters, the world's oldest mechanical clock and the best-preserved original 1215 Magna Carta. The Cathedral and its community share over 800 years of history. 'Behind the Scenes' tours and demonstrations include the Tower Tour, the Stonemasonry Works Yard, the historic Cathedral Library, Stained Glass Window Tours and Medieval Clock demonstrations.

Accessibility
Wheelchair users can easily access the Cathedral floor, Chapter House, Cloisters, Refectory Restaurant, Gift Shop and toilets; three wheelchairs are available to borrow at the Welcome Desk. Large print visitor maps are available and water for assistance dogs can be found near the Refectory Restaurant entrance. Disabled parking spaces are available in the Cathedral Close at £10 per day. The nearest Changing Places public toilet is at Queen Elizabeth Gardens (Lush House). Telephone 01722 555120 for questions.
Parking
Limited parking within the Cathedral Close at a fixed cost of £10 for the whole day (includes disabled spaces); £1 for motorcycles. Nearest public car parks are Lush House (SP2 7TD) and Old George Mall (SP1 2PH), both about a 5-minute walk from the Cathedral Close. Park and Ride stations are located on all main routes into the city. No coach parking in the Close due to height restrictions.
Dogs
Dogs are welcome in the Cathedral if kept under control on a short handheld lead; water bowls are available in the Cloisters and a biscuity treat from the Welcome Desk. Only assistance dogs are permitted in the Refectory restaurant. Dogs may not be permitted at certain events or guided tours.
