The experience
About this day out
Roche Abbey is the extensive ruin of a small Cistercian abbey set in a dramatic valley with rocky limestone outcrops. Its soaring early Gothic church transepts survive almost to their full height and became the centrepiece of a Georgian landscape designed by Capability Brown. Later changes revealed one of the most complete ground plans of any English Cistercian monastery.
