About this day out

Princes Park lies at the centre of Irlam and offers a wide variety of recreational opportunities for people of all ages. Donated to the city in Victorian times by George Thomas, it contains a unique remnant of the original course of the River Irwell, now an important habitat for a range of local wildlife. The park hosts the annual Irlam and Cadishead Community Festival each August bank holiday and an annual bonfire display with fireworks and children's fairground rides.
