About this day out
Pill Paddock is a 44-hectare nature reserve in Pill, Bristol, created from an old allotment transformed into a reserve by the local community. It is an excellent spot for birds and butterflies, surrounded by mature hedges, with a small woodland of oak, ash, poplar, elder, willow and field maple planted by local children, plus a wildflower meadow where common spotted orchid has been found. The reserve is owned by Easton-in-Gordano Parish Council and leased to Avon Wildlife Trust.
