Brecon Mountain Railway offers vintage steam train rides from Pant, near Merthyr Tydfil, into Bannau Brycheiniog (Brecon Beacons) National Park. The scenic 9.5-mile return journey follows part of the historic Brecon & Merthyr Railway, passing Pontsticill, running alongside the Taf Fechan Reservoir and climbing towards Torpantau, one of the highest railway summits in Britain. Visitors can also enjoy tearooms, a shop and an engineering workshop at Pant Station, and a Lakeside Café and children's play area at Pontsticill.
