About this day out
Nottingham Castle Museum & Art Gallery offers 1000 years of history with collections of Fine Art, Lace, Robin Hood and Nottingham Castle's history. Visitors can relive Robin Hood's daring adventures and journey into the depths of Castle Rock on tours of hidden caves, including Mortimer's Hole or King David's Dungeon. A single-purchase ticket allows unlimited re-visits for 12 months.

- Adults £18 (+ booking fee); Kids Go Free (15 years & under, 3 per paid adult; children must be accompanied by an adult); pay once, visit all year round. Rover ticket for all three Heritage venues (Wollaton Hall, Nottingham Castle & Newstead Abbey): Adult £39, Kids Go Free (up to three children per paying adult). Carers free with a paying visitor.

- Museum is accessible across all floors with lift access; the historic site and grounds have uneven surfaces, so care is needed. Accessible toilets are available in the Museum & Gallery and Visitor Centre (10am–5pm), plus a Changing Places toilet with height-adjustable bench (bring your own sling; key from Visitor Centre attendant). Wheelchairs are available on site and the cafés are wheelchair accessible. Induction loops at each reception point, Visitor Centre, shop & café; Braille guides for first floor galleries; icon-led signage, a visual story and sensory maps are available, with Relaxed Viewings in the Long Gallery every Monday and Sunday morning. Cave tours are step-only access with steep, uneven steps and no lift; accessible tours must be booked in advance. Staff are trained to work with visitors who have assistance needs.

- Assistance dogs are welcome in the museums, café, shop, park & gardens; puppies in assistance dog training are welcome in the museum & Visitor Centre if house trained.
