About this day out
North Devon Maritime Museum is situated in Odun House in the heart of Appledore, North Devon, on the estuary of the River Torridge, an area with a rich nautical history dating back to medieval times. The museum features exhibits for adults and children alike, including working models, films, ship models from the 16th century to the modern day, and hands-on activities such as turning a ship's wheel, tying knots and using a sextant. Visits can also be arranged by prior booking outside the official opening season.
