About this day out

Maze Park Nature Reserve is a green oasis on the south bank of the River Tees, a short walk or bike ride from Tees Barrage. A maze of surfaced pathways circles the mound and intertwines the grasslands, offering panoramic views across Teesside. The reserve attracts more than 12 species of butterfly, including the scarce grayling and dingy skipper, and provides habitat for declining bird species such as the grey partridge and skylark.
