About this day out

The Mansion House in Ffynone, originally called Brooklands, is the official residence of the Lord Mayor of Swansea. Completed in 1863 as the family home of local builder Evan Matthew Richards, it was purchased by the County Borough of Swansea in 1922 and renamed the Mansion House. The house retains original features including a Victorian tiled entrance hall, a mahogany staircase with a large stained glass window, white Italian marble fireplaces, and a terrace with a sundial and two brass six-pounder cannons cast in 1804.
