Killhope is a lead mining museum in County Durham whose site includes an underground mine, washing floor, mine shop, buddle house and jigger house, with the site's famous Armstrong wheel restored. It is currently closed to visitors due to a potentially serious safety issue with the historic reservoirs, with reopening postponed. £1.15 million from Arts Council England and Durham County Council has been invested to safeguard the historic structures, and when it reopens it will be a fully working and moving museum with interactive experiences.
