About this day out

Kents Cavern in Torquay is one of the most important prehistoric sites in Europe and Britain's Oldest Home, where evidence of three different human species has been found, including the UK's oldest human fossil jawbone. Visitors explore an extensive labyrinth of caverns with 400 million-year-old rocks and spectacular stalagmites and stalactites on expert-led guided tours, which run every hour and last just under an hour. The site also offers an Ice Age woodland animal trail, the Firestone Kitchen café, and seasonal events such as Cave Cinema, Halloween and Christmas experiences.
