About this day out

Hollow Marsh Meadow is a 2-hectare hay meadow nature reserve comprising two damp unimproved neutral meadows and a block of ancient woodland, designated a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI). It offers glorious displays of wild flowers including orchids from spring to mid summer, and on a warm day it throngs with life and can be quite noisy with the sound of buzzing insects. Best time to visit is April to July, before the hay cut which takes place after 15 July.

Accessibility: Contact the Trust for access information. Paths and tracks have uneven surfaces in places and can be slippery, wet and boggy; take care on the open-sided bridges and around the watercourses.
Parking: No formal parking. Best to park in Farrington Gurney and walk along Pitway Lane to the reserve; main entrance at ST 613 560 at the end of Pitway Lane.
