About this day out

The gardens at Holker have evolved over many hundreds of years under generations of the Cavendish family and cover 23 acres of immaculately kept formal gardens set within an informal landscape of trees, shrubs and meadows, planted to offer year-round interest. Features include the Elliptical Garden, Neptune & Cascade, the Summer Garden, the Sunken Garden designed by Thomas Mawson, a Wildflower Meadow, a Labyrinth, a slate Sundial, and the National Collection of Styracaceae. The gardens are National Award Winning.
