About this day out
A bronze relief depicting HMS Sirius located at Appley Tower, Ryde, Isle of Wight, accompanied by two other bronze plaques giving the history of the ship and the history of the plaques. It commemorates HMS Sirius, the principal naval consort of the First Fleet that sailed to Australia in 1787. The bas-relief was created by sculptor Alex Kolozsy and was unveiled on 29 June 1991 as a gift from the Council and people of the Municipality of Mosman, Australia to the people of the Borough of Medina.
