About this day out

Greenham Control Tower is a charity run by volunteers, opened in Summer 2018 as a visitor centre and community hub in a former military control tower at Greenham Common, Newbury. Visitors can learn about its history as a military control tower during the Cold War and WWII, admire 360 degree views over Greenham Common, and enjoy a dog-friendly cafe. The site also hosts events, exhibitions, and access to the natural beauty and recreational space of the common.

Accessibility: The building is wheelchair accessible with wide doors, ramps and a wheelchair-friendly disabled toilet, though the car park is a little bumpy. As a Grade 2 listed military building there is no lift to the upper floor or observation deck; the climb to the top is approx. 60 steps. A screen in the cafe displays a 360 degree view from the Observation Deck.
