About this day out

The Green Howards Museum is the regimental museum of the Green Howards, located in the Trinity Church building in the centre of Richmond's market place. With 300 years of conflict and over 35,000 artefacts, it chronicles the lives of thousands of soldiers through exhibitions, events and learning programmes. It has been awarded the VisitEngland Quality Assured Visitor Attraction accolade, scoring 92%.

Accessibility: Fully wheelchair, mobility scooter and pushchair navigable with step-free level access throughout (via small ramp, platform lift and standard lift to all floors). Level access entrance with automatic door sensor and push button; handrails on both sides of staircases. Large print gallery interpretation available, television screens include subtitles, and there is a water bowl for assistance dogs; no hearing assistance system. Emergency evacuation procedures for disabled visitors with an evacuation chair and refuge points. Disabled (restricted to 3 hours) and motorcycle parking bays outside the museum.
Parking: No on-site car park. Parking discs available from the museum give up to 2 hours free parking in the market place (8am–6pm Monday–Saturday), with unrestricted parking there on Sundays. Short stay and long stay car parks throughout the town, including Nuns Close long stay car park (228 spaces, free for disabled badge holders in designated bays for up to 10 hours). Disabled (3 hours max) and motorcycle bays outside the museum.
