About this day out

Geevor is a real Cornish tin mine little changed since it closed in 1990, offering a genuine underground experience in the 18th century Wheal Mexico Mine along with the Hard Rock Museum and mine buildings. It is a multi-award winning, family-friendly attraction and a key centre of the Cornish Mining World Heritage Site on the north Atlantic Tin Coast. Tin and copper have been mined in Cornwall since the Bronze Age.

Accessibility: Blue badge/accessible parking immediately in front of the Museum and directly outside the main reception entrance. Three accessible toilets (reception building, car park, Hard Rock Museum) plus baby changing. Accessible lifts in the Hard Rock Museum and between the shop and cafe (cafe lift platform button requires assistance from an additional person; alternative access can be arranged for long wheelchairs). Staff have deaf and disability awareness training. Easy read and large print guides/maps available from reception, large print signs on displays, and films with audio. Personal assistants admitted free. An accessible VR tour gives access to areas otherwise inaccessible. Plenty of places to sit across the site.
Parking: Free all-day car parking for all visitors. Accessible/blue badge parking immediately in front of the Museum and directly outside the main reception entrance. A bus stop is located at the top of the Geevor site.
Dogs: Dogs welcome across the entire site except underground. Assistance dogs welcome everywhere. Drinking water for dogs provided outside reception, on the tin floors and outside the cafe and shop.
