About this day out

Eridge Rocks is a majestic sandstone rock outcrop among mixed woodland in the High Weald of East Sussex, with giant boulders some ten metres high extending for around 600 metres. The rocks are designated a Site of Special Scientific Interest due to the community of plants growing on them, and the reserve is important for many rare lichens, mosses and liverworts. Shady nooks, deep fissures and giant bastions are topped with ancient and gnarled Beech, Yew and Holly.
