About this day out

Dancersend is a tranquil 85-hectare BBOWT nature reserve with a rich variety of wildlife, nestled within two sheltered valleys deep in the Chilterns, 5 miles south-east of Aylesbury. Once owned by the Rothschild family, it was made a nature reserve in the 1940s in remembrance of Charles Rothschild, founder of UK nature conservation. The reserve features mixed woodland, chalk grassland and is home to butterflies, orchids, fungi and many birds.
