About this day out

The SEA LIFE TRUST Cornish Seal Sanctuary is a charity that rescues and rehabilitates grey seal pups from around the Cornish coastline, rehabilitating around 70 pups each season from September to March. Visitors can see 8 resident Grey Seals, 3 Common Seals and resident puffins up close and learn their individual stories. The Sanctuary also offers curriculum-linked school education visits, virtual workshops and outreach programmes.

Accessibility: Due to the site's location there are steep gradients: about a 600m walk from main reception/car park to the seal hospital, and a further 300m downhill to the seal pools. Slopes may exceed 16 degrees, which may not suit some mobility scooters or electric wheelchairs, so limited accessible parking and 4 first-come-first-served vehicle assistance spaces are available near the pools. Accessible toilets are in front reception and by the Seal Hospital, but there are none down by the seal pools. One carer goes free per paying disabled guest (documentation such as blue badge, DLA letter or doctor's note required), staff have completed sighted-guide training with the Guide Dogs charity, and Sanctuary Sensory Bags are available for guests with sensory needs.
Parking: On-site main car park, with the main accessible parking area immediately in front of main reception. Limited accessible parking and 4 vehicle-assistance spaces are available near the seal pools on a first come, first served basis.
