About this day out

Caldicot Castle, founded by the Normans, developed as a medieval stronghold and restored as a Victorian family home, is set in tranquil gardens and a 55-acre wooded country park through which the River Nedern winds. Visitors can explore the medieval towers, battlement views of the Severn estuary, the castle dungeon and HMS Foudroyant's cannon, with entry free except on certain event days. The site also offers a tea room, gift shop and bike hire.
