During term times, Mondays & Tuesdays are Green Days (Museum and Gardens only, no trains or gallopers), Wednesdays-Fridays are Blue Timetabled Days (diesel trains and gallopers), and Saturdays, Sundays & Bank Holidays are Orange Timetabled Days (steam trains and gallopers). During school holidays, Monday to Sunday are Orange Timetabled Days.

About this day out

Bressingham Steam & Gardens is a steam museum and charity with four railways, a locomotive shed, historic gallopers, Dad's Army displays and vehicles, and unique 17-acre gardens. Its steam collection was started by entrepreneur Alan Bloom, who opened it to the public more than 60 years ago to celebrate steam engineering.

Accessibility: As a historic site dating back to the 1940s, improvements include mobility scooter hire (£15 charge, book in advance as availability is limited), wheelchair hire, wheelchair user compartments on the Fen Line and Waveney Line trains, a wheelchair user swing, and a whistle map for visitors who struggle with loud noises (available from ticket staff).

Dogs: Dogs are not permitted in the museum or gardens, with the exception of Assistance & Guide Dogs. Owners are asked never to leave dogs in cars or other vehicles when visiting.
